Goods from Russian manufacturers and a special edition of the nevalyashka doll to be presented by the National Centre RUSSIA at INNOPROM. India

From 9 to 11 September, New Delhi will host INNOPROM. India, an international industrial trade fair in which the National Centre RUSSIA will participate with its flagship Department Store project. The space will feature goods from Russian manufacturers and products made by artisans from different regions of the country, ranging from food and cosmetics to accessories, souvenirs and decorative and applied arts.

Participants and visitors to INNOPROM. India will discover the diversity of Russia's regions and the distinctive features of local folk crafts. The stand will feature carved wooden birds and boxes from the White Sea region; Dymkovo toys and matryoshka dolls (nesting dolls) from the Kirov Region; Yelets and Vologda lace tablecloths, napkins and collars; Orenburg down shawls; crystal items from Dyatkovo and Gus-Khrustalny; Zhostovo trays; Gzhel, Bashkir and Verbilki porcelain; Khokhloma painting; as well as a handmade Siberian carpet and carved chess sets. A special place will be given to traditional treats — tea, pastila, gingerbread, toffee, handmade chocolate and honey with berry sauces — as well as a range of natural handmade cosmetics.

Especially for the trip to New Delhi, a limited edition of the traditional Russian nevalyashka —the roly-poly doll — has been created jointly with the Tambov-based Kotovskie Nevalyashki factory. Its patterns incorporate motifs inspired by Indian culture, making it a symbolic gift celebrating friendship between the two countries. This continues an established tradition: themed collections were previously created for trade fairs in Uzbekistan and China.

The National Centre RUSSIA stand at INNOPROM. India will take the form of an octagonal arched structure, decorated on the outside with monochrome berry-coloured elements and featuring traditional Russian painting inside. The dome will be adorned with a lace-ring shaped frieze.

The stand has been designed as an open route through which visitors can move freely, discovering products, regional stories and Russia's cultural traditions. The arches will house product shelves, themed screens, an area featuring products with quotations from the President of Russia, a meeting room, a checkout area and a model of the future National Centre RUSSIA building.

The visual basis of the concept is the image of a thread — a symbol of the connection between regions, artisans, traditions and modernity. Decorative textile elements and macramé will link the different parts of the exposition. They will emphasise the idea of continuity: products handmade by artisans become part of a contemporary cultural offering presented at the Department Store RUSSIA.

A dedicated area will be reserved for live masterclasses. Artisans from the Ryazan, Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as from the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra, will demonstrate the process of creating their products and introduce visitors to traditional techniques. Video content on the screens will complement the live demonstrations, giving visitors an insight into the regions, their crafts and the stories of their artisans.

Masterclass participants will have a chance to see how fur and leather are worked, discover the technique of fur mosaic and learn about the traditions of the Khanty and Mansi peoples, as well as find out more about Dymkovo toys and one of Russia's oldest folk crafts.

The strong interest of international visitors in Russian culture and traditions was confirmed during the international participation of the National Centre RUSSIA in trade fairs in China and Uzbekistan. In April 2026, the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA was presented abroad for the first time, at INNOPROM. Central Asia in Tashkent, and in May it took part in the Russia-China EXPO in Harbin. Both stands were among the most visited spaces at the trade fairs and became focal points for visitors.

INNOPROM. India will take place from 9 to 11 September at the Bharat Mandapam exposition complex in New Delhi. It is organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with the Formika group of companies serving as operator. Leading Russian companies and regions will take part in the trade fair. The event will be held ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit and will provide a platform for business contacts and the development of joint industrial projects between Russia and India.
