Traditions of family reading will be discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
The All-Russian Conference "Ways to Popularize Family Reading" and the award ceremony of the All-Russian Family Contest "Mom, Read to Me and I'll Draw" (Stage VI "Adventures in the Library") will be held on April 10 in the Pavilion F Gazprom at the RUSSIA EXPO.
The conference, organized by the "Book Beacons of Russia" project, will discuss traditions of family reading in Russia, reading for children and adults, development of children's creative potential. The guests will be presented the projects on popularization of reading "Book Beacons of Russia", "Book Expedition St. Petersburg — Vladivostok", "Library Kremlin New Year Tree", practical advice from librarians, a review of periodicals.
The moderator will be Elena Alenina, co-founder of the Savvinsky Library Club Community, co-founder of the contest "Mom, Read to Me and I'll Draw".
The speakers include:
— Tatiana Zhukova, PhD in Pedagogy, president of the Association of School Librarians of the Russian World, editor-in-chief of magazines "School Library", "Chitayka", vice-president of "Education League", member of the expert council of the State Duma Committee on Women, Family and Children;
— Denis Kotov, founder of the St. Petersburg book chain "Bukvoed", co-owner of the chain "Chitai-gorod — Bukvoed", founder of the tourist startup BEST.PETERSBURG, founder and president of the All-Russian festival movement "Book Beacons of Russia";
— Fyodor Konstantinov, writer, author of the book "Stefan Zweig" of the publishing house "Molodaya Gvardiya", publicist, representative of "Rare Books Publishing House";
— Anna Frolova, head of the City Children's Library No. 32 in Domodedovo, Moscow region.
A special event of the conference will be the performance of the exemplary group of the G. A. Struve CEaMCA "Pioneria" — choir of boys and young men under the direction of Artem Kosenkov, concertmaster is Maxim Shansky.
The first event to be held at the Russia National Centre, which is being established by the order of President Vladimir Putin, will be the International Science Fiction Symposium and Exhibition "Inventing the Future". The symposium will take place from November 4 to 6.
Tomorrow, the International RUSSIA EXPO will conclude its work. From November 2023 to July 2024, it was visited by more than 18 million guests.
