"Unique Russian Language": Vladimir Putin toured the exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA branch created at his instruction
At the Primorye branch of the National Centre RUSSIA,
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was presented with the
exposition "Unique Russian Language", created at his instruction. The
initiative came from Liliana Voronova, Head of the Department of Russian as a
Foreign Language and Head of the Regional Russian Language Testing Centre.
"I am
very grateful to you, Vladimir Vladimirovich, for supporting this initiative. My
dream — and, I believe, the dream of many Russian language scholars — has come
true. It is particularly gratifying that the first such venue opened in
Vladivostok. What makes this especially valuable is how quickly the idea was
implemented," said Liliana Voronova.
According
to her, the new exposition gives children, residents and tourists of the region
studying Russian the opportunity to test their knowledge in a game mode,
discover forgotten or unexpected linguistic phenomena, and learn interesting
facts and records of the Russian language.
"I
always tell both Russian and international students that the Russian language
is the means of national identity of the Russian people. It is not just
a system of signs and rules, but a living legacy that reflects the history,
culture, mentality and spirit of the people," stressed Liliana Voronova.
The
President was offered a task — to place the stress correctly in words. It
proved challenging: the meaning depended on the choice of stress. First
Vladimir Putin tried to complete it himself, and then invited students from the
Warrior Centre ("Voin") to join in and test their knowledge.
The
students engaged with the game on interactive panels: translating youth slang
into literary Russian and solving old words. Together with the
President, the girls from the Warrior Centre correctly placed the stress in the
words "graffiti" and "catalogue".
On 5 June
this year, a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Policy on
Supporting the Russian Language and the Languages of the Peoples of Russia was
held. Following its results, the President approved a list of
instructions. Among them was the instruction to create cultural and educational
interactive spaces at the National Centre RUSSIA (including its branches in
certain regions of the Russian Federation) for the promotion and advancement of
the Russian language.
The first
branch of the National Centre RUSSIA was opened in Vladivostok, in the building
of the former aquarium, with an area of 2,500 square metres. It includes
exposition spaces reflecting the achievements and development projects of the
Far East and Primorye. The interactive expositions of the branch allow visitors
to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the region.
The first
branch of the National Centre RUSSIA houses the following expositions:
"The Path of the 155th Marine Brigade in the Special Military
Operation", installation "Lighthouse", Facets of Primorye,
Interactive Map of Primorye, Sea Journey, Bathyscaphe, Protected Areas of
Primorye, Unique Fauna, Plant a Tree, "The Udege Trail", Mountain
Resorts, Innovation and Technology.
The
National Centre RUSSIA was created by order of President of the Russian
Federation Vladimir Putin to showcase the achievements of our country,
strengthen national identity, foster a sense of pride in the nation, develop
professional skills among children and youth, and preserve the legacy of the
International RUSSIA EXPO.
By the end
of the year, several more branches of the National Centre RUSSIA will open in
Sevastopol, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and the Krasnoyarsk region.
