The Department Store RUSSIA decorated for Easter
Easter at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA begins with the interior design. This year, the space is styled around a single theme — the merchant tradition, symbolising the revival of customs and the uniting of cultures through traditional crafts and regional brands.
A decorative screen has been installed for the holiday, inspired by Boris Kustodiev’s painting "Easter Rite. The Kiss of Peace". It continues the merchant narrative: the holiday as a time for family gatherings, unhurried conversations, and warm greetings. The wallpaper pattern supports this idea, echoing the background of the famous painting and the interiors of merchant homes from the early 20th century.
This design does more than create an atmosphere — it highlights the concept of the Department Store as a space where the finest examples of Russian crafts and contemporary brands come together. Porcelain and textiles, wooden and glass items, Easter decorations and souvenirs — everything needed to bring a festive spirit into the home can be found here side by side.
The Easter decor is complemented by a curated selection of seasonal goods. Guests can purchase traditional Easter cakes made to historic recipes, fabric pouches and table linens, cake stands, festive figurines, and crystal eggs. Through these items, presented within a merchant-style interior, visitors can see how seamlessly tradition fits into modern life.
Easter at the Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA is more than a display — it is a unique space where the aesthetic of a merchant home meets the present day. The festive decor serves as a reminder of continuity and shared values: faith, family, and respect for cultural heritage.
On 12 April 2026, Orthodox Christians in Russia celebrate one of the most important and joyful holidays — Easter.
