Make it in time for pancakes: the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA welcome guests for Wide Maslenitsa
The weekend is already close, which means there are still two full days left to wrap up Maslenitsa (Shrovetide) week deliciously and with meaning. The Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA invite guests to immerse themselves in the traditions of Wide Maslenitsa across different regions of the country.
Each day of Maslenitsa week in the Gastronomic Rows had its own unique flavour and mood. On Tuesday, visitors could revisit the traditions of "Zaigrysh" — the name traditionally given to the second day of the celebrations. On Wednesday — "Lakomka" — it was customary to eat pancakes without limits, while Thursday was called "Razgulyai" for good reason: it was on this day that Maslenitsa truly began, and our ancestors stopped all household work in order to devote the rest of the week to pure fun.
At the "North" corner, guests of the National Centre RUSSIA can enjoy timeless Russian classics — pancakes topped with berries, as well as fritters with honey. The "East" corner offers the main Maslenitsa dish with pine-cone jam and fillings of julienne or three kinds of fish. The "West" treats visitors to pancakes with red caviar or salmon with cream cheese. And the most exotic "pancakes" — thin wheat flatbreads, chapilgi with four types of cheese or caramelised apples — are prepared at the "South" corner.
Come to the Gastronomic Rows of the National Centre RUSSIA for delicious pancakes and a festive atmosphere. The space is open every day from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 20:00.
