To see "The Nutcracker" and meet Ded Moroz: a vibrant New Year’s program at the National Centre RUSSIA
A rich New
Year’s program is held for guests of the National Centre RUSSIA during the
winter holidays. Children and adults can participate in creative workshops,
join the atmospheric tour "Make a Wish," and watch the famous ballet
"The Nutcracker." The events of the New Year’s program will run until
February 1.
The
lighting ceremony of the "New Year Trees of Russia" marked the start
of New Year’s activities at the National Centre. Guests can see eight decorated
trees — one for each federal district of the country. Each tree features a
unique collection of decorations reflecting the cultural, natural, and folk
characteristics of each federal district. More about the project "New Year
Trees of Russia" can be learned during the "Make a Wish" tour
through the outdoor space and expositions at the National Centre RUSSIA.
One of the
key events of the New Year holidays will be the premiere of a unique multimedia
production of the ballet "The Nutcracker." Static decorations will be
replaced with video content displayed on large-format screens. Animated effects
will bring the story to life, making the performance even more magical.
Audiences will witness how the centuries-old traditions of Russian ballet merge
with cutting-edge technology, transforming the classic performance into a
dazzling visual adventure. The shows will take place on December 28 and 29,
2024, and January 3 and 4, 2025.
On December
27, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the "Children’s Press Conference
of the All-Russian Ded Moroz from Veliky Ustyug in the Vologda region."
The participants will be children aspiring to become journalists, including
children with various health conditions. All guests will have the opportunity
to interact with the main winter wizard — Ded Moroz.
Family New
Year’s workshops are also held for visitors of the National Centre RUSSIA. For
example, guests can learn how to create New Year tree decorations and
beautifully wrap gifts. You can follow the schedule on the website russia.ru.
In
addition, visitors have a unique opportunity to send New Year’s postcards to
friends and family across the country and even to any part of the world —
thanks to the project “New Year Russia. Dreaming Together,” created in
collaboration with Russian Post. A special mailbox has been set up on the
second floor of the Centre, where bright New Year’s postcards can also be
found.
The festive
atmosphere of the New Year season is enhanced by a special playlist: familiar
holiday melodies are played throughout the National Centre RUSSIA.
The New
Year season at the National Centre RUSSIA will conclude on February 1. All New
Year activities, like other events at the Centre, are free. However, some events
require prior registration. The festive program is available on the website
russia.ru.
The
National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian
Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA
EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a
permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations,
and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
The
National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow.
The Centre is open from 10:00 to 20:00 every day except Monday.
