Employees and guests of the RUSSIA EXPO expressed their support for the residents of Donetsk - the day before the city was shelled by the enemy. January 22 has been declared a day of mourning in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Despite the fact that Monday is a technical day at the International RUSSIA EXPO, many employees remain at their workplaces to prepare and change expositions and ensure the operation of pavilions. The participants of the All-Russian Family Forum Dear - Loved Ones, which takes place on January 19-23 at the Exposition, also supported the Donetsk residents.

Employees of the Directorate, staff of the Exposition, and participants of the Dear - Loved Ones Forum held in Pavilion No. 55 Home of Youth could not stay aside and expressed their support for the Donetsk residents.

They brought burgundy roses, the symbol of Donetsk, to the DPR stand. These flowers were planted in the city in the 1960s. In 1970, UNESCO recognized Donetsk as the greenest industrial city in the world. Since then, the capital of Donbass has popularly secured the status of the "City of a Million Roses". The flower has another symbol in the region. At the RUSSIA EXPO, Denis Pushilin, Head of the DPR, presented a forged rose made of shards of shells that flew into the cities of the Republic.

Today, visitors brought baskets with roses, as well as heart-shaped cards - one of the symbols of the Exposition - with words of support. The collection was organized in Pavilions No. 55 and 57 where the events of the Dear - Loved Ones Forum are held today. Words of support have already been expressed by hundreds of people.

"I would like to express my deepest words of regret and condolences for what has happened. This is a great tragedy that we have learned about. Donetsk - my heart grieves with you," said Ilmukhambetova Amina, an employee of the Stavropol region stand.

A family of volunteers from Voronezh also expressed words of support. "We express words of support to all residents of the Donetsk People's Republic. We know that this region is home to wonderful people - strong true heroes. And we send our sincere words of support to you. We share your tragedy with you. We are participants of the All-Russian Forum Dear - Loved Ones. We are a family of volunteers, we help the lads who have come from the SMO zone for temporary accommodation, and we also take part in the collection of humanitarian aid for the SMO fighters," expressed support Natalia Amineva from Voronezh.

On January 21, one of the residential areas of Donetsk came under Ukrainian shelling. The Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted a market in the Tekstilshchik neighborhood, where hundreds of civilians were on their day off. As a result of the artillery fire, 27 people were killed and another 25 suffered injuries of varying severity, among them two teenagers.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. During the entire time of the Exposition, guests are welcomed with cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. The exposition will be held at VDNH in Moscow until April 12.
