On 19 September, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a strategic session dedicated to the development of creative industries in the regions. The event was organised jointly with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and brought together leading experts, government representatives, and leaders of the creative community to exchange experience and develop future strategies.

Participants presented successful practices and discussed the key challenges facing the regions in the field of the creative economy. Olga Gremyakova, Deputy Chair of the Government and Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Tula Region, emphasised that creative industries are the key to unlocking the region’s unique potential.

"Our task is to build a creative ecosystem in the region, where talents can develop and contribute to the economy. This dialogue helps us align our efforts and move in the same direction," stressed Olga Gremyakova.

Afanasiy Savvin, Project Director at the Centre for Creative Economy Development of ANO "Agency for Strategic Initiatives for Project Promotion", spoke about the current support institutions and examples of the development of creative industries in the Russian regions.

Lidiya Roy, Chair of the Creative Industries Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia and Head of the Creative Industries Laboratory at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, drew attention to the formation of a "creative core" as the foundation of the new economy of territories.

Representatives of the regional expert group — Yevgeny Kuznetsov, Sergei Bortulev, and Yelena Palevskaya — demonstrated how the mission of creative people directly influences the formation of new economic models in the region.

The key outcome of the session was a shared understanding that the successful development of creative industries requires a systemic approach, which includes support from the region, active involvement of business, and a focus on the unique identity of each territory.
