A discussion on the new mission of deputies in modern Russia will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
A panel discussion by the Expert Institute for Social Research titled "New Challenges — New Tasks: The Mission of Deputies in Modern Russia. 120 Years of Russian Parliamentarism" will be held on 3 July at 18:00 at the National Centre RUSSIA, in the "Space of Opportunities" conference hall.
Ahead of the new political season, experts and lawmakers are rethinking the role of elected representatives. While the emphasis used to be on lawmaking, the concepts of "service" and "social architecture" are now coming to the fore. The key trend is the transformation of the deputy corps, which was joined after Single Voting Day by almost 900 participants in the special military operation. These people, who have gone through the "school of battle", are setting new standards of responsibility and direct connection with citizens.
During the discussion, participants will discuss the development of feedback mechanisms and the strengthening of deputies’ role as a link between society and the authorities, as well as the introduction of the best regional practices for jointly addressing social issues.
