On 20 September, a private screening of the family movie "My Friend, a Cat, and Pushkin" will run at the National Centre RUSSIA. This motion picture was created by the "Marmot-Film" film company with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and JSC "Channel One. The World Wide Web", and will go on wide release on 2 October 2025.

The plot of the film features a 12-year-old Moscow schoolgirl Milana, who writes poetry but is afraid to speak in front of the public. The girl decides to take part in the All-Russian rap duel contest based on the novel "Eugene Onegin" in order to prove her talent and gain her mother's trust. An unusual companion helps her in this — a black cat, in which the soul of young Pushkin lives. Modern teenage stories, rap battles and classical literature intertwine in the film, which makes it close and understandable to schoolchildren.

The motion picture was directed by Alyona Mikhailova. "When Pushkin, children and a cat meet in the same film, it promises an amazing adventure. We wanted to make a kind and inspiring movie about creativity, friendship and the path to one's goal, which entertains, touches and leaves a viewer in a bright mood," she said.

Famous actors played in the film. Among them: Yelizaveta Boyarskaya, Mikhail Yevlanov, Yevgenia Dobrovolskaya, Yevgenia Sinitskaya, Alisa Konashenkova, and others. Also, the motion picture features a special music track "Nobody but us", recorded by rap music artist Levan Gorozia (L'One) together with young actors.

The values reflected in the movie — family, education, and cultural heritage — are consonant with the mission of the National Centre. The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on an ongoing basis. Federal authorities, state-owned companies, corporations and regions take part in the work of the National Centre RUSSIA.
