The premiere of the film "The Pain of Parents" was held at the National Centre RUSSIA
On November
20, on Universal Children's Day, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted the premiere
of the film "The Pain of Parents". This documentary is based on
materials from the Parliamentary Commission for Investigating Crimes Against
Minors by the Kiev Regime.
"This
year marks 65 years since the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and 35
years since the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Yet it seems that
those responsible for monitoring these rights on the international stage must
admit their own helplessness. Parents of deceased children told us, in unison,
about their efforts to seek the truth, only to be told that they themselves
were to blame. Our mission is to voice, on behalf of those who were silenced,
what truly happened," said Anna Kuznetsova, Deputy Chairwoman of the State
Duma of the Russian Federation and Co-Chairwoman of the Parliamentary
Commission.
The special
project "The Pain of Parents" recounts the tragic stories of families
whose children were killed or injured as a result of military actions. It aims
to once again draw public attention to the need to protect the rights of
children who have become victims of crimes committed by the Armed Forces of
Ukraine (AFU).
While
filming, the project participants witnessed firsthand the pain of children
robbed of their childhood, internalizing this suffering. Now, they see it as
their duty to convey the truth about these shattered lives.
"Making
this film was incredibly difficult, but each time we found inner strength
because these stories must be told. Today, the most terrible crime is
indifference to what is happening there. There are no 'other people’s'
children, no 'other people’s' grief, and only together can we overcome
this," emphasized Marina Kim, a State Duma deputy, journalist, and the
film's creator.
Documentarians
serve as chroniclers of our history, and it is vital that there are people who
find the professional and personal strength to capture the horrors of war,
noted actress and public figure Yana Poplavskaya.
"If a
person does not see the pain of others, they lack empathy. That’s why I would
very much like this film to be shown on national channels, so that our people
can see and truly understand the terrifying reality, which is sometimes
blurred," Yana Poplavskaya concluded.
The work of
the Parliamentary Commission for Investigating Crimes Against Minors by the
Kiev Regime, which has already documented thousands of offenses against
children by the AFU, will continue. "The most important thing is that our
Commission's work does not stop. After our victory, we will ensure that all
criminals are brought to justice," stated State Duma deputy and Commission
member Yana Lantratova.
The
National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian
Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA
EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a
permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations,
and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
The
National Centre RUSSIA is located at 14 Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment, Moscow.
