The Komi Republic Week commences at the National Centre RUSSIA
The Komi
Republic Week started at the National Centre RUSSIA on 19 January. As part of
it, a meeting with the Head of the region, Rostislav Goldstein, will be held on
20 January. In a presentation format, Rostislav Goldstein will outline the
territory's development prospects, new social projects, and investment
opportunities. Registration to the event is available on the National Centre
RUSSIA website.
The presentation by the head of the Komi Republic and his
team will be complemented by personal stories from distinguished guests,
including multiple-Olympic champion Yelena Vyalbe, People's Artists of Russia
Alexander Oleshko and Yevgeny Knyazev, and others.
The territory of the Komi Republic covers over 400,000
square kilometres, which is comparable, for example, to the area of Germany.
Russia's North is no longer perceived as a periphery, but is becoming a point
of attraction for investors and those ready to work for the future.
Komi is the birthplace of Russian oil: the first extraction
began near Ukhta back in the mid-18th century. Today, the region remains a
guarantor of Russia's energy security, producing about 14 million tonnes of oil
and 3.4 billion cubic metres of gas annually. The republic also employs unique
technologies: the Yaregskoye field is the only one in Russia where
high-viscosity oil is extracted using the mining method. The Pizhemskoye field,
the country's largest titanium repository, will also become a new growth point.
The Komi Republic is rich not only in natural resources, but
also possesses significant tourism potential. It is home to the mystical
Manpupuner Plateau – one of the Seven Wonders of Russia. The oldest skis in the
world, over 8,000 years old, were discovered in Komi. A true taiga treasure,
included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, is also located here.
The January Expert Dialogues, a new format meeting featuring international experts, will be held for the first time at the National Centre RUSSIA.
An online course on creating content using neural networks has launched on the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA.
