"The Nutcracker" ballet performances with multimedia decorations concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA
The National Centre RUSSIA has completed the run of a new version of "The Nutcracker" ballet. The standout feature of this production was the multimedia stage design: traditional static elements were replaced with decorations created using cutting-edge technology. Over five days, nearly eight thousand people attended this unique performance.
"In the new version of "The Nutcracker," the finest traditions of Russian ballet blend with modern technology, offering the audience a glimpse into the future. It is significant that this debut took place here — at the National Centre RUSSIA, established to preserve the past for the sake of the future. Our Centre is preparing many more vibrant cultural events for the whole family, and we warmly invite everyone to join us," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
The technical innovations used in the visual accompaniment of the ballet provided the audience with an immersive experience. The unexpected ending was also a surprise: the magical force transported Marie to a world of the future and cutting-edge technologies. In the very finale, the girl finds herself standing right in front of the National Centre RUSSIA. The main message of the new ending is, "Anything is possible, and everything is just beginning."
The role of the Prince was performed by Igor Tsvirko, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre, laureate of international competitions, and recipient of the "Soul of Dance" award. Marie was portrayed by Kristina Kretova, leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre and laureate of the International Ballet Award Dance Open.
For "The Nutcracker," over 100 unique costumes were specially created by top designers. These costumes, stylistically aligned with the multimedia decorations, were crafted partially in Moscow and partially in France by theatrical artisans using original patterns.
The magnificent music, the dancers' skill, and the unique costumes left no one indifferent — neither adults nor children, neither strict critics nor devoted art enthusiasts.
