The first Russian Space Forum opens at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 9 April, ahead of the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight, the Russian Space Forum opened at the National Centre RUSSIA. The large-scale event is being held as part of Space Week, proclaimed by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It has brought together delegations from 40 countries and is dedicated to shaping the strategic agenda for the development of the space industry, developing solutions through cooperation between the state, science, and business, supporting advanced technological developments, and strengthening international cooperation in the peaceful exploration of space.
During the Forum at the National Centre RUSSIA, the achievements of the domestic space industry over the years will be presented, along with their impact on people’s lives and the prospects that lie ahead.
The Russian Space Forum has brought together representatives of public authorities, the industry community, science, business, and the media at the National Centre RUSSIA to discuss key areas of development in the space sector and its role in the country’s socio-economic development.
Throughout the day, a series of panel sessions will take place at the venue, focusing on key areas of industry development. Participants will discuss the formation of a near-Earth economy and the future of low Earth orbit, the role of artificial intelligence and robotics in space exploration, as well as the application of space technologies in everyday life and business. Experts will also address the development of the private space sector, the issue of orbital congestion, and the use of satellite data as a foundation of the modern economy, among other topics.
The Russian Space Forum will conclude with the plenary session "Space Agenda — 2030+: Global Challenges and National Strategies". Russian and international representatives of public authorities will take part. In particular, Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of Roscosmos State Corporation, will speak during the discussion.
In addition, the Forum will host a presentation of the first International Space Games and a conceptual model of a space settlement planned for the staging of engineering competitions. These unique competitions for leading young engineers modelling the exploration of the Solar System will take place in Russia in the summer of 2026, with the participation of national student teams from CIS, SCO, and BRICS+ countries.
A key objective of the Russian Space Forum is to create a safe space for open dialogue among all participants in the space industry. The event is organised by Roscosmos State Corporation, with the Roscongress Foundation acting as operator, and with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.
