Female with the longest plait to be selected at the National Centre RUSSIA
At the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition of the
National Centre RUSSIA, female visitors can measure the length of their plait
until 15 January, and get a chance to win a gift certificate. The certificate
provides a vacation at a hotel in the famous Curonian Spit in the Kaliningrad
region. The start of the "A Braid to the Baltic" competition was
announced by the Governor of the Kaliningrad region, Alexei Besprozvannykh.
"At the heart of our exposition is the Curonian Spit,
so we invite you to measure your natural-grown hair braided in a plait with a
special 'braid-meter'. Whoever has the longest plait will receive a five-day
vacation in the Curonian Spit area," wrote Alexei Besprozvannykh on his
channel on MAX messanger.
From 13 to 15 January, Kaliningrad Region Days are taking
place at the National Centre RUSSIA. Visitors to the region's stand at the
"Book of Fairy Tales" exposition have the opportunity not only to get
acquainted with the legends, symbols and traditions of Russia's westernmost
territory but also to try their hand at an unusual competition.
Since the contest’s launch, over 60 beauties have already
measured their plaits using an amber "braid-meter". Many participants
came to Moscow from different regions of Russia with their entire families —
specifically for the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition. Having learned
about the contest, they decided to compete for the main prize.
The measurement is conducted according to strict rules: hair
must be braided into a classic three-strand plait, secured at the base, and
then its length — from the start of the braid to the tip — is measured with a
special "braid-meter" ruler. The result is recorded in centimetres.
"I just wanted to give it a try — after all, I've been
growing my hair for so many years. Although I understand my chances of winning
are not great, I see many long-haired girls here," admitted one of the
participants, Polina.
Not only adults, but children, as well, are taking part in
the competition. The mother of seven-year-old Nika shared that her daughter
happily allowed her plait to be braided and measured. The result was decent —
almost 30 centimetres. The young guest received gifts for her participation —
Kaliningrad marzipan and a "tourist passport".
In total, there will be three prize places in the
competition. The owner of the longest plait will receive a certificate
providing a hotel stay in the Curonian Spit area. Participants who take second
and third place will be awarded diplomas and commemorative souvenirs from the
Kaliningrad region.
