VTSIOM to act as an analytical partner of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future"
The VTSIOM Analytical Centre will take part in the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" as an analytical partner and co-organizer of one of the tracks of the programme. The Symposium, which is the flagship event of the National Centre RUSSIA, will be held on 7-8 October, 2025, and will bring together leading experts from around the world to develop positive scenarios for the future and to visualize them. The event is organized on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology in our country. It will cover the most relevant topics: from demographic trends and urbanization to international scientific and technological cooperation and digital space.
The expert programme of the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future" encompasses three tracks, and one of them – the track "Society" – will be co-organized by the VTSIOM Analytical Centre. Participants will discuss the transformation of society, and an individual’s role in the new society. The focus will be on issues of demography, social ties, intergenerational relations, urbanization, and culture. Valery Fedorov, Director General of the VTsIOM Analytical Centre, Elizaveta Likhacheva, art critic and architectural historian, Alexander Panin, economic geographer, Andrey Shelutto, artist and designer, and others will be engaged in the discussions.

This year, the sessions of the Symposium will be held in accordance with the intellectual standard developed by specialists of the VTsIOM Analytical Centre. The standard includes: uniform approaches to organization of discussions; evaluation criteria for presentations and materials; participants' qualification requirements; discussions quality control, and analysis of the Symposium's results. The VTSIOM analytics based on the track "Society" sessions results will be available to the general public shortly after the end of the event.
The Symposium will bring together more than 7,000 experts from the SCO and BRICS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe. At each of the tracks, they will carry out an extensive joint work at the intersection of science, technology, humanities, and imagination. The discussions will result in futuristic forecasts that can be monitored, discussed, and adjusted. Statesmen, scholars and researchers, technology sector representatives, futurologists, forecasters, and representatives of the creative industries will take part in the exchange of experience and the development of positive scenarios for the future. Special attention will be paid to the young professionals' participation, in order to increase their involvement in promising projects.
A large-scale open educational programme for the general public will be implemented. It will demonstrate the synthesis of science, technology and art in the space of ideas about the future, and speak in simple language about complex and important things. Visitors of different ages will be offered inspiring lectures about space, quantum breakthroughs, technological innovations and images of the future in culture and art. Registration of the open programme participants will begin in September on the official website of the Symposium.
