Great discoveries in the heart of Ryazan: outdoor exposition on Russian explorers extended
The outdoor exposition "Beyond the Edge of the Map" in the Ryazan Region has been extended. Residents and visitors can explore the display on Pochtovaya Street until 10 August. The exposition panels tell the stories of outstanding Russian explorers whose expeditions transformed the world's understanding of geography. Located on Ryazan's main pedestrian street, the exposition is part of the legacy of the "Geography Lessons" project by the National Centre RUSSIA.
The themed display panels introduce visitors to explorers and pioneers who travelled across the Arctic, Siberia, the Far East, Alaska, North America and Central Asia. A special section of the exposition is dedicated to natives of the Ryazan Region whose achievements made a significant contribution to the development of Russian geographical science.
Designed in the style of 18th- and 19th-century maps, the exposition features expedition routes, navigation elements and historical materials that immerse visitors in the era of the great geographical discoveries.
The central theme of this year's celebration, "The Energy of the Future", is dedicated to young people who are already shaping Russia's future by advancing technology, science, culture, media and public initiatives.
Following numerous requests from prospective participants, the application deadline for the All-Russian Award "More Than a Trip" has been extended until 31 July, inclusive.
