All-Russian line-up, procession with orchestra and musical concerts. How Victory Day will be celebrated at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 9,
the International RUSSIA EXPO will host many events dedicated to the important
historical date. Everyone will be able to celebrate Victory Day and attend the
ceremonial line-up and concerts, watch a procession with an orchestra and
listen to fascinating lectures.
Red
Carnations campaign
The Red
Carnations campaign will be organized by the Memory of Generations charity
fund, which has already helped more than 18,600 veterans. Visitors to the
Exposition can receive a commemorative badge in the shape of a flower by making
any donation to the foundation's volunteers.

Lecture:
“Liberation of Crimea and Sevastopol in 1943-1944”.
Everyone
can learn about the fierce struggle of the Soviet armed forces for the
liberation of Crimea and Sevastopol, which took place from the end of October
1943 to May 12, 1944. Senior researcher of the Institute of Russian History of
the Russian Academy of Sciences, candidate of historical sciences will talk
about these events and reveal the role and significance of the victory in the
Crimea on the further course of the Great Patriotic War.

Victory Day
line-up and ceremonial procession
The annual
Victory Day ceremony, which takes place in schools, colleges and universities
across the country, will also take place at the RUSSIA EXPO this year. It will
be attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War (GPW), veterans of the
special military operation (SMO), and representatives of the Movement of the
First. The line-up will be the starting event of the procession, in which,
among others, children's and youth brass bands, vocal and dance groups from
different cities of the country will march in festive formation.

Festival
“Fanfare of Victory 2024”
Within the
framework of the Festival, the visitors will see performances of children's and
youth brass bands from five regions of Russia, choirs, dance ensembles and
soloists. Musicians will perform compositions about the Great Patriotic War,
waltzes and marches, lyrical and patriotic works, songs about Moscow. The
program also includes: flash mob “Victory Waltz” together with a veteran of the
Great Patriotic War, performance of youth orchestras, teleconference with
Sevastopol and Crimea, mass performance of the song “Victory Day”.

"Victory
Rays" campaign
"Victory
Rays" is a moving campaign in which everyone can honor the memory of
fallen heroes. The historic building of Pavilion No. 1 “First in Russia - Land
of Opportunity” will be illuminated with spotlights - rays of light. Also,
Victory Volunteers will make an image of the Order of the Patriotic War out of
lamps and candles, which with the rays of light will create a complex picture
and illuminate the territory of the Exposition.

Events and
photo expositions in honor of Victory Day
As part of
Victory Day celebrations, each guest of Pavilion No. 15 “Russia in Motion” will
be given carnations as a symbol of love and respect for veterans. A photo
exposition “Medics during the Great Patriotic War” will be opened for the
guests of Pavilion C “In the Service of Health”. Everyone will also be able to
take part in the “Immortal Regiment” campaign by placing a photo of a GPW
veteran on a special campaign stand. And in Pavilion No. 12 “SIBUR House of
Polymers”, guests will be able to visit a temporary exposition with a
demonstration of facts about home front workers - chemists who contributed to
the Great Victory. The “Immortal Regiment” online campaign will also be held
there. On the internal screens of the Pavilion, videos with relatives of the
company's employees will be broadcast for guests.

Performance
by the orchestra of the Ministry of Transport of Russia
The
orchestra of the Russian Ministry of Transport provides musical accompaniment
for official events of the Ministry of Transport, the Russian University of
Transport, and participates in concerts and festive events. On Victory Day, the
orchestra will perform songs of the war years.

Musical and
literary production “Children of War”
The stage
will show a play about the wartime and the life of children who could not take
part in the fighting against the Nazi invaders because of their age. The
audience will see how teenagers took part in the construction of defensive
structures and air defense, and in the home front, along with adults, worked in
factories, harvested crops, grazed cattle, helped in hospitals.

“Immortal
Regiment” campaign in the House of Russian Cuisine
On the day
of the Great Victory on May 9, the cooks of the House of Russian Cuisine will
remotely join the “Immortal Regiment” campaign. They will display photos of
grandfathers and great-grandfathers-winners and tell their stories. Festive
treats are waiting for all veterans in the House of Russian Cuisine.

Concert by
Ildar Abdrazakov
Ildar
Abdrazakov is an opera singer, Merited Artist of the Russian Federation, winner
of the Golden Mask National Theater Award and two Grammy Awards. He will
perform together with the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra. The guests
of the Exposition will hear songs that are infinitely dear and close to each of
us: “Cranes” and “Smuglyanka”, “Dark Night”, “Moments”, “From Heroes of Bygone
Times” and dozens of other compositions that have become musical symbols of the
country and our Victory.

No. 48 Farmers Fair 10:00 - 20:00
The Farmers
Fair in Pavilion No. 48 invites you to be amazed by the variety and richness of
tastes. Cheeses, sausages, delicacies, Siberian berry jam, chocolate-covered
cones, black and red caviar from all regions of the country are presented here.
You can comfortably get to our Fair by route No. K, which departs from Pavilion
No. 75, as well as from the stop "Northern Loop", located at the arch
of the Main Entrance of VDNH. Pavilion No. 48 is within walking distance from
the "City Farm" stop.
The
International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country
gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural events, a rich
business and educational program await guests. The expositions of 89 Russian
regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are
presented to the visitors. More than 11 million people have already visited the
Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place at VDNH in Moscow from
November 4 to July 8.
The International RUSSIA EXPO announced the beginning of the campaign "Belgorod, Our Hearts are with You" and fundraising for residents affected by shelling. Today the residents of Belgorod region show fortitude and courageously resist all attempts to disturb the peace and tranquility.
