The All-Russian Wedding Festival continues: 12 couples got married at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 17,
12 couples from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, the
Southern Federal District, and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics got
married at the RUSSIA EXPO. The ceremony was part of the first All-Russian
Wedding Festival, which is held in partnership with the Moscow Government.
On the
sixth day of the festival, one couple each from the Hero City of Sevastopol,
the Astrakhan region, Crimea, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Donetsk
People's Republic, the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, as well as two couples
from the Volgograd region and the Lugansk People's Republic tied the knot. The
newlyweds took part in the festive procession from the Arch of the Main
Entrance to the Main Street Stage of the Exposition together with regional
creative teams.
In
addition, the newlyweds were handed over the flame of the All-Russian Family
Hearth "Heart of Russia", which was lit at the Exposition as part of
the ceremony of launching the Year of the Family with the participation of
Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 23.
Roman and
Alina from the Stavropol region were among those who got married at the RUSSIA
EXPO. They arrived at the ceremony wearing traditional costumes of Terek
Cossacks.
"The
emotions from what is going on are amazing! I think it is every person's dream
to attend such an event. We are very grateful for the opportunity to
participate in such an event. The memory of it will stay with us for a
lifetime," Roman said.
"I am
very happy. Thanks to our region and thanks to our governor we were able to
spend this day here. This is a rare opportunity that is not given to
everyone," Alina noted.
The
Krasnodar region was represented at the ceremony by Artem and Alina, who
entered the Main Street Stage of the Exposition dressed as Kuban Cossacks.
"Today's
ceremony is just a miracle, a fairy tale. I had a dream of a grand wedding, and
it came true!" Alina admitted.
"We
liked the ceremony very much. Everything was calculated literally minute by
minute, we are really grateful to all the organizers," shared his
impressions Artem.
After the
solemn wedding ceremony, participants of the festival movement "Roundelays
of Russia", creative groups from Dagestan, Ingushetia,
Karachay-Cherkessia, Kalmykia, Lugansk People's Republic, Volgograd and
Astrakhan regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions and the Hero City of
Sevastopol also performed on stage.
The
All-Russian Wedding Festival is held on the venue of the RUSSIA EXPO for the
first time. It started on Red Hill (Second Sunday of Easter), May 12, when the
largest mass simultaneous marriage ceremony was held. 151 couples took part in
it. Until May 19, the Exposition is hosting thematic days dedicated to the
stages of wedding rites and various customs. Each of them will be related to
the traditions of Russia's regions and peoples.
One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
The pitch sessions on four tracks took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28, with the participation of authors whose essays were selected by the expert council of the National Centre.
