On May 17, 12 couples from the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District, the Southern Federal District, and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics got married at the RUSSIA EXPO. The ceremony was part of the first All-Russian Wedding Festival, which is held in partnership with the Moscow Government.

On the sixth day of the festival, one couple each from the Hero City of Sevastopol, the Astrakhan region, Crimea, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, as well as two couples from the Volgograd region and the Lugansk People's Republic tied the knot. The newlyweds took part in the festive procession from the Arch of the Main Entrance to the Main Street Stage of the Exposition together with regional creative teams.

In addition, the newlyweds were handed over the flame of the All-Russian Family Hearth "Heart of Russia", which was lit at the Exposition as part of the ceremony of launching the Year of the Family with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 23.

Roman and Alina from the Stavropol region were among those who got married at the RUSSIA EXPO. They arrived at the ceremony wearing traditional costumes of Terek Cossacks.

"The emotions from what is going on are amazing! I think it is every person's dream to attend such an event. We are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an event. The memory of it will stay with us for a lifetime," Roman said.

"I am very happy. Thanks to our region and thanks to our governor we were able to spend this day here. This is a rare opportunity that is not given to everyone," Alina noted.

The Krasnodar region was represented at the ceremony by Artem and Alina, who entered the Main Street Stage of the Exposition dressed as Kuban Cossacks.

"Today's ceremony is just a miracle, a fairy tale. I had a dream of a grand wedding, and it came true!" Alina admitted.

"We liked the ceremony very much. Everything was calculated literally minute by minute, we are really grateful to all the organizers," shared his impressions Artem.

After the solemn wedding ceremony, participants of the festival movement "Roundelays of Russia", creative groups from Dagestan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kalmykia, Lugansk People's Republic, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions and the Hero City of Sevastopol also performed on stage.

The All-Russian Wedding Festival is held on the venue of the RUSSIA EXPO for the first time. It started on Red Hill (Second Sunday of Easter), May 12, when the largest mass simultaneous marriage ceremony was held. 151 couples took part in it. Until May 19, the Exposition is hosting thematic days dedicated to the stages of wedding rites and various customs. Each of them will be related to the traditions of Russia's regions and peoples.
