Meeting with the director of the documentary film "Owner of the Arctic" Pavel Poluichik was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
Pavel Poluichik, scriptwriter and director of the documentary film "Owner of the Arctic", met with the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO in the Rosneft Pavilion. The film tells about one of Rosneft's expeditions to study polar bears and the methods of field work of scientists.
One of the questions addressed to the director concerned his departure from Channel One.
"The answer to this question is obvious - I started a new stage in my life. Documentary has put new tasks and new topics in front of me. It gave me the opportunity to delve deeper into the subject, because no one gives a correspondent, television journalist more than a week to immerse in the topic. And for the movie "Owner of the Arctic" I went on several business trips," said Pavel Poluichik.
The director also touched on the differences in the work of a correspondent and the author of documentaries.
"To hold the viewer's attention for two to seven minutes is one thing. To hold the viewer's attention for 26 minutes is quite another. It's a different structure, a different perception of understanding, a different depth. In order for the viewer to understand the material, you have to understand it very well yourself," emphasized Pavel Poluichik.
Polar Bear Days are held in the Rosneft Pavilion at the RUSSIA EXPO from February 27 to March 3. An extensive educational program is planned for visitors to the pavilion. Employees of the Udmurtia Zoo will hold a lecture-journey "In the Footsteps of the Polar Bear". Representatives of Rosneft and scientific institutes of the country will introduce visitors to the environment of the Russian North, its flora and fauna, as well as the latest biotechnologies based on Arctic microorganisms. At masterclasses, guests will be taught how to draw bears, and in the cafe area they will be able to watch videos from Russian zoos.
During the thematic days, guests of the Rosneft Pavilion will take part in quizzes about the polar bear and will be able to win prizes. Documentary films and a cartoon will be shown in the cinema hall.
Preservation and protection of the polar bear population is one of the areas of Rosneft's environmental program. The company's specialists together with the leading scientific organizations of the country study the behavior of animals in the wild. In addition, all polar bears in Russian zoos are under the company’s care. Rosneft provides housing, feeding, and veterinary care for the animals, builds and renovates enclosures, and conducts scientific and educational programs.
