The "Journey Across Russia" exposition inspires teachers and school principals from different regions and neighbouring countries
Participants
in the All-Russian Homeroom Teachers' Forum and the First School Principals'
Forum visited the main exposition of the National Centre RUSSIA. The
"Journey Across Russia" exposition, which takes guests across the
entire country from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, made a strong impression on
education professionals.
Greta Gagiyeva, a teacher of Russian language and literature from South
Ossetia, noted that the exposition sparks interest and a desire to explore
Russian culture, history and traditions in greater depth:
"We did not simply learn about something on the surface, but truly came
into contact with the best that Russia has to offer. I was especially impressed
by the hall with gemstones and the Mistress of the Copper Mountain, and when we
went down there in the lift, I felt like a character from Pavel Bazhov's fairy
tales."
Yulduz Tuychiyeva, a representative of the teaching community of Uzbekistan,
expressed the view that expositions such as "Journey Across Russia"
are especially important for children today, allowing them to discover the
history, present and future prospects of their Motherland through real-life
examples.
"We went through all the halls in one breath, and it made me want to visit
every corner of Russia in person, because every region and every city has its
own beauty. Unfortunately, many children today practically live on their
phones. That is why it is essential to bring them to expositions like this — so
that afterwards they pick up musical instruments, build something, draw,
create. So that young people know there are values in life that matter more
than gadgets," Yulduz Tuychiyeva said.
Sakhra Khydyrova, a teacher of German language and literature from
Turkmenistan, compared the exposition to a real journey across the country and
admitted that after visiting the National Centre RUSSIA, she most wanted to
travel to Lake Baikal.
"The exposition is impressive. Everything is very vivid, informative and
interactive, from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. The guide led us in such a way
that we really felt as though we were travelling — as if we had walked across
all of Russia. I am sure I will remember the exposition for many years. After
visiting it, what I most wanted was to go to Lake Baikal. For schoolchildren,
expositions like this are very useful and visual: it is better to show
something once than explain it a hundred times. It would be wonderful if my
students could see it too," Sakhra Khydyrova shared.
