RUSSIA EXPO and "Healthy Fatherland" completed the "Marathon of Exercises" series
The "Marathon of Exercises" at the International RUSSIA EXPO ended with a mass workout led by sports blogger, amateur triathlete, ultramarathon runner, multiple winner and record holder, World Friendship Games ambassador Anastasia Tukmacheva. Organizers were the RUSSIA EXPO and the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland".
Anastasia Tukmacheva told the participants how to come to sport, what it brings and how it motivates in ordinary, everyday life. The event ended with a colorful photo session with the idol of millions of young people.
"Morning exercise gives you an amazing charge for the day, because you use it to wake up your body. We are made up of small cells, and they need to be charged — and the movement should not be complicated, you should stretch your body, your joints. In the morning, the body needs some time to start up all its systems, and moving for just ten minutes can provide significant benefits," said Anastasia Tukmacheva.
"Marathon of Exercises" is a mass sports festival and a ritual of cohesion, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and popularizes Russian sports throughout the country. It is led by idols of millions of young people — famous champions, professionals of different sports. The "Marathon of Exercises" started at the RUSSIA EXPO in April. Then the first mass warm-up with Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny set a record, gathering 5,773 people and representatives of four regions of Russia, who repeated exercises simultaneously with the famous gymnast and his wife Daria Nagornaya.
Weekly on Saturdays on the Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO, the ambassadors of the "Healthy Fatherland" movement held mass exercises, autograph sessions, as well as talked about a healthy lifestyle and shared their secrets of success. Everyone had an opportunity to take selfies with their Russian sports idol. Visitors who collected five autographs of athletes received a special limited edition "Sports Russia" medal.
For the visitors of the Exposition, morning exercises were led by Ekaterina Leschinskaya, head of the "Healthy Fatherland" movement; eight-time Russian weightlifting champion Mikhail Koklyaev; world boxing champion Fyodor Chudinov; World Cup sambo champion Karina Cherevan; Olympic bronze medalist Ekaterina Lobysheva; the youngest grandmaster in chess history Sergei Karjakin; three-time Olympic champion Maria Kiseleva; Olympic swimming medalist, 23-year-old Ivan Girev; and world boxing champion with the strongest punch, Mark Petrovsky.
"The project itself speaks of adopting the best practices of the Soviet Union. In the Union, sports had a place everywhere: in the field and in the workshop, at school and in kindergarten, at the stadium and at home, and everything started with it — with morning exercise, getting the whole country out of bed with the voice of the radio receiver. The "Healthy Fatherland" team is very happy that our project has covered practically the whole country and found a response both among ordinary compatriots and sportsmen," said Ekaterina Leschinskaya, head of the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland".
She also noted that the project will continue to cover new regions of Russia, and Moscow residents can continue to train for free in the company of champions in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora, where group classes are held every weekend to maintain their health.
Twenty-six regions of Russia joined the seven workouts of the "Marathon of Exercises". Novosibirsk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Tyumen, Magadan, Krasnodar regions, the Republic of Khakassia and Antarctica joined the final warm-up with Anastasia Tukmacheva in the teleconference mode.
In addition, as part of the cooperation, the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Fatherland" and the RUSSIA EXPO organized a sports parade march, which took place 105 years after the first such event was held on Red Square. Its participants were over five thousand people from 89 regions of Russia. Among them were two thousand athletes, 15 Olympic champions, 30 sports federations, four sports communities, legends of Soviet and Russian sports. The event also included a countdown to the sports parade on Red Square, which will take place in 2025 on the Day of Physical Culture. The event, which will be watched by the whole world, will be held for the first time in the history of modern Russia.
