XI All-Russian Forum "Development of Small Towns and Historic Settlements" commences at the National Centre RUSSIA
New approaches to urban improvement and solutions that help make territories more comfortable places to live will be presented at the National Centre RUSSIA on 10 August. The venue will host key events of the XI All-Russian Forum "Development of Small Towns and Historic Settlements". The winners of the XI All-Russian Competition for the Best Projects for Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment, the V All-Russian Competition for the Far Eastern Federal District regions, and the competition for reunified and border regions will also be honoured at the Centre.
The XI All-Russian Forum "Development of Small Towns and Historic Settlements" is organised by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Government of Moscow and the DOM.RF development institution. The event brings together representatives of federal and regional authorities, municipalities, development institutions, professional architects and urban planners, and experts in spatial development.
The National Centre RUSSIA will host the display of the best practices in urban improvement and sustainable development in small towns and historic settlements. Participants will discuss approaches to creating a comfortable urban environment, developing anchor settlements, strengthening connectivity between territories, and improving people's quality of life. One of the forum's central events will be the plenary session titled "Small Towns of Russia: Preserving Uniqueness, Strengthening Unity", attended by Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Forum speakers include Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Alexei Yeresko, DOM.RF Director for Urban Environment Development Anton Finogenov, and Artistic Director of the Oleg Tabakov Moscow Theatre School, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov.
On 15 September, a 558-square-metre children's playground inspired by Dymkovo toys opened in Yekaterinburg's Preobrazhensky Park.
