"Good dynamics": Achievements in the tourism industry were discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
The results of the 2023 tourist season and the prospects for the development of this industry in 2024 were discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO. The meeting with representatives of the Russian Union of Travel Industry and experts in the tourism industry was held by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov.
The exposition "Feel Russia" which tells about the opportunities of domestic tourism is popular among visitors. According to the minister, the exposition was visited by more than 215 thousand people, 140 events were held there. Maxim Reshetnikov also noted that the tourism industry in our country by the results of the outgoing year shows good dynamics.
"Tourist trips have increased by plus 19% compared to last year. This dynamic is more than convincing. It is important that we have a fairly wide geography - the North Caucasus, Altai, Baikal, the Far East, Karelia. These regions have increased the flow by one and a half times. Kaliningrad and Kuzbass - by a third" , — said the head of the Ministry of Economic Development.
The Ministry of Economic Development has prepared proposals to extend the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry". Tour operators in domestic tourism were exempted from VAT, the work on the classification of accommodation facilities is underway. And under the program of construction of modular hotels more than four thousand rooms have been commissioned for two years. In the fall, an additional 10 billion rubles was allocated for these purposes for 2023-2024 on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The country is developing tourist attraction points - both new and existing ones. This includes, for example, sea resorts, children's amusement parks, and ski resorts.
Applications can be submitted until June 4.
