Country’s breadbasket and industrial leader: Rostov Region Day at the RUSSIA EXPO
Today, two out of three Russian harvesters come from the Rostov region’s assembly lines, and half of Russia’s wind generation is produced in the Don wind farms.
Such data was presented by the Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev on the Day of the Region at VDNH.
"With the support of President Vladimir Putin, the most important transport and logistics projects have been implemented in the Don region: Platov airport, the largest in the south, has been built, while on the territory of the old airport the construction of New Rostov — a modern city within a city with infrastructure and the development of 1.5 million square meters of housing — has begun, and the ground transportation system is being modernized", — said Vasily Golubev, Governor of the Rostov region.
Industry in the Don region has grown by a quarter in recent years — the volume of investment has increased by a third in five years.
A special pride of the region is stable record grain yields of 16 million tons. The Rostov region holds a strong position among the most successful regions of Russia in the production of sunflower oil, milk and vegetables.
In the House of Russian Cuisine at the RUSSIA EXPO, Don chefs and sommeliers, including Alexander Pushkov, the winner of one of the seasons of the TV project Hell’s Kitchen, hold masterclasses on cooking traditional Don dishes.
Meetings with famous figures of culture and art, autograph sessions with Olympic champions born in the region are also arranged. The rich cultural heritage collected by Rostov museums is presented at the tablet exposition.
The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
