Kaliningrad region
Welcome to the Kaliningrad region – the westernmost region of our country with a unique historical and cultural heritage. This is the land of amber, medieval castles, glorious victories of Russia, modern industry and agriculture.
Kaliningrad region, with an area of just over 15 thousand square kilometers and a maximum length of only 205 kilometers, is a semi-exclave. It is separated from the main part of Russia by the land borders of foreign countries and the international waters of the Baltic Sea.
In 1945, this region became a trophy of the Red Army, won in the battles of the East-Prussian operation.
Now more than a million people live here, and this figure continues to grow.
The unique appearance of the Kaliningrad region is created by the objects of cultural heritage. Officially, almost two thousand monuments have this status: castles, forts, manors, towers, residential houses and war memorials.
At the exhibition stand of the Kaliningrad region you will be able to take a bicycle ride along historical routes, find a sunstone in the world's largest deposit of amber, take selfies with philosopher Kant and a knight, and admire the views of Kaliningrad from the tower of the ancient Cathedral.

Kaliningrad region presented a neural network to fight vandals
As part of the Artificial Intelligence Day, Kaliningrad residents presented the best regional practices of implementing artificial intelligence and the latest domestic developments in this field. Visitors to the Kaliningrad stand were able to get acquainted with the work of the QWATCHER software system - a neural network for detecting acts of vandalism, which was created by scientists of the Kant BFU together with the staff of the regional SBI "Safe City".

Christmas tree of the Kaliningrad region - everything is made of amber!
Balls, snowflakes, mittens, bells - almost all the decorations of the Christmas tree of the westernmost region of Russia are covered with amber. The decorations were made specially for the country's main exposition by craftsmen from Kaliningrad.
