Here you can learn about the history of our region, its current achievements, and its plans for the future!

The Kirov Region is an actively developing region bordering nine other constituent entities of Russia. The year 2024 marks a major milestone for the capital of the region, the city of Kirov, which will celebrate six hundred and fifty years since its foundation! In anticipation of this important date, we would like to use this international platform to explain what makes our region unique. For example, we have forest resources, the Dymkovo toys, and ancient Pareiasaurus remains, which can still be found on the banks of the Vyatka River, the main waterway of the region.

That is why our guests are greeted by this unusual representative of our region! Before taking this Pareiasaurus model to the exhibition, its creators have animated it especially for you. The model was built according to the dimensions of Pareiasaurus specimens excavated in our region. These mechanical giants are made in Kirov by a company producing animatronic exhibition models of dinosaurs, insects, and other creatures.

The Kirov Region has the world's largest excavation site for these animals that lived before dinosaurs. And if you come to visit, you will be able to see not only their models but the real fossilized remains exhibited in the two paleontological museums of the region. Many of our exhibits have no parallel anywhere in the world.

Another symbol of the region that greets our guests at the stand is the two-meter Dymkovo lady. The Dymkovo handicraft is unique, and well-known all over the world. The largest collection of Dymkovo toys in the country is carefully preserved in museums of Kirov. Come to Kirov to learn the history of the handicraft and create your very own Dymkovo toy under the guidance of experienced Dymkovo craftswomen.

At our stand, you can also see modern toys from the Kirov Region - Vesna Factory dolls, always a favorite among kids!

As you can see, we mainly used three colors in the design of the stand. They reflect different aspects of our region’s identity.

The first one is blue. This is the gentle color of the Vyatka River, showing the strength of the city that grew on its banks.

The second one is orange. This color reflects the lively personality of our people, visible and recognizable everywhere due to their positive attitude, earnest character, and love for their work.

And the third one is green; it is the soft color of nature, beauty, and culture of the Kirov Region, the vibrant color of the lawns of the Alexander Garden, and the tranquil green of the roofs of ancient monasteries that serve as the foundation of our faith and spirit.

The key element of our stand showcases a facade of a wooden house, a symbol of our forest region. Due to abundant forest resources, centuries of experience, and the use of new technologies, people of the Kirov Region build top-quality, reliable wooden houses.

Inside the house, you can see a modern, high-end kitchen. Furniture manufacturing is another area where we make good use of our expertise and vast timber resources.

Kirov furniture is made from natural, environmentally friendly materials: solid beech and ash, pine boards, and hardwood veneers. These natural materials have unique textures and radiate charm and character.

Kirov manufacturers produce high-quality furniture that is popular both in Russia and abroad. Our designers masterfully blend organic wood with contemporary materials, including ceramics, plastics, and metals.

The timber industry is just one example of many areas in which the Kirov Region has seen major successes over the past six years!

The agriculture industry of the Kirov Region is a modern agro-industrial complex, including production and processing facilities, and food industry companies.

The Kirov Region has a strong raw material base for processing raw milk and all the resources needed to increase production volumes. In 2022, the region ranked third in the Volga Federal District and fifth in the Russian Federation in raw milk production.

You will be able to see animated paintings by the famous Vasnetsov brothers, who were born in the Vyatka Province, and watch animated videos about the history and prominent people of our region.

Future:

In the same room, you can learn about the plans for the future development of the region. You can study a model of a world-class campus planned for construction in the near future. It will consist of an engineering center, a university campus, sports and cultural facilities, concert and exhibition halls, and a phygital center.

Another unique project is a hydrogen synthesis plant developed at Vyatka State University, the flagship university of the Kirov Region.

Many more important milestones are in the plans for the Kirov Region: establishment of special economic zones, modernization of the region’s sports and tourism clusters, construction of a hydrogen energy center, large-scale reconstruction of the airport, roads, and cultural facilities, and urban improvement for new public spaces.

In 2025, Kirov will serve as the New Year's capital of Russia!
