Sandalov reported that in the first quarter of 2024, the industrial production index in the Kirov region reached 122.1%. By this indicator, our region ranks fourth among the subjects of the Volga Federal District and eighth overall in the country. There are over 5,300 enterprises, organizations, and individual entrepreneurs in the manufacturing industry in the Kirov region.
Last year, the volume of shipped products in the manufacturing industry by large and medium-sized enterprises reached 404.4 billion rubles, which is 112.7% compared to the level of 2021. Investments in high-tech and science-intensive industries amounted to 24.9 billion rubles, almost twice the level of 2021.
Meanwhile, the total volume of investments in 2023 amounted to 106.2 billion rubles, which is 6.8% higher in comparable prices compared to 2021. The growth trend continues: in the first quarter of 2024, the investment volume reached 22.4 billion rubles, with a physical volume index of 131.2%. The largest amount of investments is directed towards engineering enterprises.
Mikhail Sandalov also noted that the Kirov region has identified the machine-tool industry as a priority direction for development. Our region plans to create a world-class campus in Kirov, which celebrates its 650th anniversary this year. Its priority specialization will be machine building. Currently, the region is participating in a competition to select applications for the construction of the facility by 2030.
