Kurgan region
The Kurgan region today is a region of developed agricultural and industrial production, with sufficient natural resources. The region occupies an advantageous economic and geographical position. It borders on the highly developed regions of the Urals – Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk, as well as the Tyumen region and the Republic of Kazakhstan. These factors favorably affect the development of interregional ties.
Our region is developing and surprising the world with its wonderful people. Who does not know the names of the noble grain grower, people's academician Terenty Semenovich Maltsev; an outstanding scientist with world renown, traumatologist-orthopedist Gavriil Abramovich Ilizarov; professor, gastroenterologist Yakov Davidovich Vitebsk; talented writer Viktor Fedorovich Potanin; People's Artist of Russia Herman Alekseevich Travnikov.
