Valentina Sea Ceramics: Inspired by the Sea, Love at First Sight

Valentina Sea Ceramics: Inspired by the Sea, Love at First Sight

There are ordinary dishes, and then there is the artisan ceramics from the Kaliningrad region, where each cup and plate looks like a work of art. Drinking from such a mug makes even ordinary tea taste better. Simply holding these pieces brings joy and lifts the spirits. You can find dishes, cups, tea sets, vases, and candle holders inspired by Baltic landscapes at the RUSSIA EXPO department store.

The founder of the brand, ceramic artist Valentina Samortseva, was born into a creative family and loved creating beauty with her hands from an early age. She developed an interest in ceramics early on, and in 2010, she was even given a pottery wheel. Although it was a toy and couldn’t produce anything substantial, it strengthened her desire to create.

Seven years later, Valentina began creating ceramics professionally. Recently, she has opened her workshop "Sea of Ceramics" in her beloved Svetlogorsk, where she not only works but also conducts master classes and teaches future ceramic artists.

Today, Valentina Sea is a successful brand of ceramic tableware and interior items created on a pottery wheel and inspired by the beauty of the Baltic coast. Many ideas for her collections came to Valentina during walks by the sea.

Valentina approaches her work with special care. In fact, ceramic products have been with humanity for centuries, and historians learn about the daily life, culture, and art of our ancestors through pottery shards. Keeping this in mind, Valentina always strives to create something special and unique, with love and attention to detail.

"I create tableware and interior items from stoneware and cover them with food-safe glazes. Thanks to the unique properties of clay and glaze, as well as high-temperature firing, I have achieved a high level of quality. The tableware is eco-friendly, durable, pleasing to the eye, and incredibly pleasant to hold," explains Valentina Samortseva, the brand's founder.

Indeed, after using artisanal ceramics, one is quick to forget about the monotonous and unattractive mass-market items. It’s no surprise that Valentina Sea’s tableware is popular far beyond the region, sold in 33 countries worldwide.

You can purchase Valentina Sea products at the RUSSIA EXPO department store.
