25 reasons for pride: we are the first to step into the quantum future
Quantum
technologies are the key to digital sovereignty, security, and breakthrough
discoveries. We are not copying anyone else's path — we are creating our own.
Russia is betting on intelligence, science, and the freedom of technological
choice.
We continue
our special project "25 Reasons for Pride," dedicated to the 25th
anniversary of the first inauguration of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. One of
these reasons is the creation of the first Russian quantum computer and
Russia's entry into the ranks of leaders in the quantum race.
In 2023,
Russia created its first domestically developed 16-qubit quantum computer. This
became a symbol of a new technological stage, comparable to the launch of the
first satellite. Work is underway in all key areas: superconducting and
photonic technologies, quantum algorithms, and cryogenic engineering — all
based entirely on Russian resources.
More than 20 leading universities and research institutes have joined forces in the National Consortium for the Development of Quantum Technologies.
The
following factors made this achievement possible:
State
support: a roadmap for the development of quantum computing was approved, with
multibillion investments allocated.
New
scientific infrastructure: high-tech and engineering equipment was purchased;
quantum laboratories were opened.
Workforce
training: specialized undergraduate, master's, and postgraduate educational
programs have been launched in the country, where future quantum engineers are
already studying today.
Follow our special
project "25 Reasons for Pride" on the social media platforms of the
National Centre RUSSIA.
The lecture "Come and See: The Feat of Newsreel Cameramen during the Great Patriotic War" took place as part of the "Thursday. Development".
The centre has become the first, unique, and multifunctional exhibition venue in Belarus, operated by the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo."
On May 8, the audience at the National Centre RUSSIA enjoyed a performance by a combined children's wind orchestra, which launched the festive concert programme.
