On January 7, 380 children from Russian regions, including new territories, visited the International RUSSIA EXPO. The event was part of the educational and tourist program organized by the Moscow City Tourism Committee together with the Moscow Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations.

The children, accompanied by the Exposition guides, visited Pavilion No. 75, where expositions of all 89 subjects of the Russian Federation are located. They got acquainted with the achievements of their native regions and saw the beauty and incredible extent of the entire country. They were most interested in the interactive stands of Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Ulyanovsk and Tver regions, as well as the Perm and Krasnoyarsk regions.

"One of the most important goals of the RUSSIA EXPO is to draw the attention of young people to the history, achievements, unique and diverse culture of the country. Through the expositions of the regions we help the younger generation to rediscover Russia in all its greatness and diversity. Since November 4, more than 46 thousand schoolchildren have already visited our Exposition as part of children's organized groups. We are happy to see young people at the Exposition, because we have a lot to surprise the younger generation and tell them about what the country is proud of", - said Ksenia Shevchenko, Head of the Information Department of the ANO «Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements "Russia"».

A number of delegations represented new regions - including the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. In total, within the framework of the City of Discoveries project schoolchildren will visit more than 25 most interesting and remarkable sites in Moscow along eight educational and tourist routes. Among the planned sites are the largest museums and art galleries, technology parks and sports stadiums, modern production facilities and creative spaces. The children get acquainted with the professions of the future, learn more about promising industries, go on educative quests that help make the first steps in career guidance.

"Children from different parts of our country dream of spending their New Year vacation in beautiful and decorated Moscow. And I am glad that for many years we have been helping several hundred children from the regions of Russia to make this dream come true. This year we will again try to give schoolchildren a real New Year holiday and unforgettable impressions, while ensuring the comfort and safety of their stay in the capital. It is very important that this project not only helps children gain new knowledge and skills thanks to the rich interactive program City of Discoveries, but also strengthens ties between Moscow and the regions of Russia", - said Vitaly Suchkov, Head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the entire period of the Exposition, guests are welcomed with cultural events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors. The exposition is held at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to April 12.
