Alexei Chekunkov: the Motherland begins in the Russian Far East — and continues across the entire country
Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic Alexei Chekunkov has joined the nationwide project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" launched by the National Centre RUSSIA. His answer to this question is shaped both by his professional experience and by his deep personal connection to his native land.
"For me, the Motherland begins, of course, with the Russian Far East. From the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka to Kaliningrad and Crimea. We are the largest country in the world, and the only way to love it is to do it wholeheartedly — embracing all its achievements and challenges, all its beauty, and its great history and culture," said Alexei Chekunkov.
The nationwide project "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" is being implemented by the National Centre RUSSIA with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The initiative aims to strengthen people's sense of unity with their country and preserve its cultural diversity and shared values through dialogue between representatives of different generations and regions. The first stage of the project was a survey that has already attracted more than 700 participants from 71 regions of Russia and foreign countries. Anyone can share what inspires their love for the Motherland by leaving a comment or uploading a video on the russia.ru website.
