Alexander Pushkin is not a monument to the past, but a living interlocutor whose texts continue to inspire, unite and educate new generations, preserving the relevance of Russian cultural tradition in the world. This was discussed during a meeting of the Literary Club "What to Read?!", dedicated to the 226th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet, by Alexei Chesnakov, Head of the Scientific Council of the Centre for Political Analysis, Professor at HSE University, and author of the Telegram channel "Chesnakov.Library."

"The question of Pushkin's relevance is strange. 'Pushkin is our everything,' as the classics said. And Pushkin continues to remain the founder of the Russian literary language, continues to remain relevant with his powerful 'memes,' as it is now common to say. Pushkin's word is an integral part of our national culture. Without Pushkin's poetry, without Pushkin's prose, it is difficult to imagine either Russian politics or Russian public life," stated Alexei Chesnakov.

Even artificial intelligence confirms the relevance of Pushkin's legacy.

"Pushkin is widely present in new communication formats. For example, one can notice that very frequently some of our artificial intelligence models and chatbots pass off Pushkin's phrases as their own, and this precisely shows that Pushkin's style has become part of the standard of the Russian language," concluded Alexei Chesnakov.

One can join club events and become participants in numerous other educational and cultural programmes at the National Centre RUSSIA free of charge through advance registration on the website russia.ru. Current information about events can be found in the "Events" section.
