The world's largest artificial forest, Europe's only desert, hot springs of the Arabat Spit, mud and salts of the Sivash Bay - unique natural conditions and agro-industrial potential of the Kherson region were presented at the exposition on the Day of the Region by the Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo.

"We have now returned to our native family. We know that behind us there is a biggest, strongest country in the world - our Motherland, Russia. President Vladimir Putin is paying the greatest attention to the restoration of peaceful life, although fighting continues. We are still on the way to building a peaceful future. And its possibilities are presented at our exposition", — said Vladimir Saldo.

According to the head of the region, despite the difficulties with water supply, flooding and problems with land reclamation, the Kherson region has harvested one and a half million tons of grain this year, and "Kherson vegetables and watermelons are already on the shelves of the whole country". Agrarians of the Kherson region received about 600 million rubles of state support for the year.

"The main thing is that Russia has returned the significance of a strategic outpost in the south to the Kherson region, a role it has fulfilled since the XVIII century. Now our region covers Crimea from the north and ensures the operation of the land route to the peninsula. Among other things, the Kherson region is a region of tourism, capable of serving millions of vacationers per year, while Crimea and the Caucasus are already struggling to deal with them", — added the head of the region.

Creative associations of the region showed a theatrical performance "How the Chumaks Carried Salt to the Empress", the play "Home Through Time and Fate".

The documentary "Films Shot in Kherson" talked about the cult movies "The Elusive Avengers", "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn", the creators of which chose the Kherson region for filming.
