More than a thousand people marched through the RUSSIA EXPO in a circus procession
The RUSSIA EXPO hosted
the Art of Circus procession timed to coincide with the International Circus
Day. More than two hundred acrobats, jugglers, mimes, clowns, gymnasts and
other artists took part in it. In addition, it was joined by children's circus studios
and specialized schools - among the participants of the procession were
children from seven years old.
"On April 12, a
new phase started at the RUSSIA EXPO - thanks to the President, the work has
been extended until July 8. The new phase will be devoted to the future of
Russia, its prospects and path of development. Our cultural and educational
program is also being updated. Now there will be more events at the RUSSIA EXPO
that you can not only watch, but also take part in - these are bright flash
mobs, large-scale processions," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director
General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
Today's procession is
part of the updated program of the RUSSIA EXPO. "Today we are holding a
circus procession timed to coincide with the International Circus Day. It is
important for us that pupils of children's circus schools from different regions
take part in it. We would like to thank the Ministry of Culture, Rosgoscirc,
the Circus and Variety Art School, circus studios and schools, as well as all
the guests who joined us today for their help in organizing this
procession," said Anastasia Zvyagina.
The Art of Circus
procession opened with a show of aerial gymnasts and acrobats on flexible poles
by the Bastrigin Brothers, who have over a thousand performances under their
belt. "A record number of circus artists working in all genres are represented
here - this is the key to a great performance. There are wonderful people
around, a lot of smiles, and I hope that the procession will help to keep this
mood" said the co-founder of the "Bastrigin Brothers" air show
Vitaly Bastrigin.
Representatives of 10
regions took part in the procession, including Moscow, the Moscow region,
Yaroslavl region, Tula region, Tver region and Kaluga regions. The clown
orchestra, drummers, circus performers on monocycles, jumpers and stilts
marched in the columns. The guests could see giant balloons and flying kites.
They were also given animal figures made of balloons - an attribute of any
circus. The event ended near the Main Street Stage of the RUSSIA EXPO with folk
festivities organized by the "Roundelays of Russia".
The large celebratory concert "Our Victory — For All Time" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The "Vehicle for the Front" campaign took place on the territory of the National Centre RUSSIA on May 9.
