The future young guides of the National Centre RUSSIA have chosen the themes for their first tours
At the
latest session of the School of Young Tour Guides at the National Centre
RUSSIA, schoolchildren who had already mastered the basics of being a guide
visited the "Journey Across Russia" exposition. They chose the
federal districts of the country, which they will soon present to the visitors
of the exhibition. The future guides were accompanied by their instructors,
National Centre RUSSIA guides Irina Alexeyeva, Dmitry Mikhalev, Yevgeny
Artemenkov, and Yekaterina Klygina.
The
"Journey Across Russia" exposition is divided into eight thematic
zones, corresponding to the eight federal districts of the country. Over the
next week, the children will carefully study and memorize information about the
selected district to present it to the exhibition visitors. The students also
had a creative task from the instructors.
"We
want you to add something interesting and personal to the information you
receive from us. Do you remember how during the Far Eastern Federal District
exposition you were told about the marine vessels built at the Zvezda
shipbuilding complex, their sizes, and what they transport? But, for example,
when I studied these tankers on my own, I found out that each of them is named
after great people who contributed to this federal district, or named after
iconic places in it — for example, the tankers 'Valentin Pikul,' 'Ivan
Aivazovsky,' and 'Ocean Avenue.' Why not suggest that the new tanker be named
'National Centre RUSSIA'? This is something you could add during your
tour," addressed Irina Alexeyeva, Senior Guide at the National Centre
RUSSIA, to her future young colleagues.
The School
of Young Tour Guides project started at the National Centre RUSSIA on February
1. It is a continuation of the tradition established at the International
RUSSIA EXPO. The classes are attended by schoolchildren from Moscow and the
Moscow region, aged 9 to 17. They immerse themselves in the world of history,
art, nature, and technology, get acquainted with the cultural heritage of the
country, and practice speech techniques and public speaking skills. Upon
completing the course, the young guides will introduce guests of the National
Centre RUSSIA to the expositions on the site. The first independent tour of the
"Journey Across Russia" exposition will be led by the future guides
at the beginning of April.
