Venison burger and crab omelet — unusual tastes at the RUSSIA EXPO
You don’t have to go to the end of the world for vivid gastronomic impressions. Original culinary traditions from all corners of our country are presented at VDNH. We will tell you what dishes will please even demanding gourmets.
On a warm day, walking around the exposition territory, be sure to visit the food trucks zone located next to the House of Russian Cuisine pavilion. In addition to the usual fast food, there are real delicacies from Yamal. For example, shish kebab from reindeer tongue, breaded broad whitefish with cedar mousse and a burger with venison, lingonberries and pepper and onion jam.
A lot of delicacies are waiting for guests in the House of Russian Cuisine itself. Regions have prepared a varied menu based on their gastronomic traditions. For example, you can taste Far Eastern chebureks, where instead of the usual meat there is commander squid, for breakfast treat yourself to an omelet with crab and try flatbread with Far Eastern wild plants — fern and ramson.
Arctic lunch will be no less appetizing: kalya soup with trout and Murmansk cod according to an old recipe and potato bread with northern shrimp with cheese sauce. Fans of first dishes will also appreciate Karelian creamy fish soup. The Kaliningrad region also has this dish, which is very delicious as well — with eel and sprats.
Meat lovers should definitely appreciate Altai cuisine. There is shurpa, stewed Altai beef, and marble beef stew. And also unusual fir lemonade.
However, the Russia Expo also took care of vegetarians' preferences. There are many vegetable dishes and cheese-based dishes on the menu of the regions. There is also a whole line of vegetable meat products presented in the foodtrack of the Vladimir region. You can try chebureks, nuggets and burgers based on vegetable protein and natural spices. Such "meat" is very similar to the real thing, rich in vitamin E, healthy omega-3 and omega-6 acids.
