In late December 2024, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the solemn closing ceremony of the Year of the Family. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova at a meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation's commission on the "Family" direction.

Families from different regions of the country will be invited to the event. "We plan to hold the federal solemn closing ceremony of the Year of the Family in late December at the National Centre RUSSIA, inviting a large number of families from different corners of the country," said Tatyana Golikova.

President Vladimir Putin launched the Year of the Family in January 2024 at the International RUSSIA EXPO. In his speech, the President emphasized that strengthening the well-being of families is a national priority for years to come.

On the day the Year of the Family began, the All-Russian Family Hearth "Heart of Russia" was lit at the RUSSIA EXPO, and its flame spread across the country as a symbol of love and loyalty. In May, the first All-Russian Wedding Festival took place at the Exposition, where 151 couples were married on the first day. In total, 284 couples from across the country were married at the RUSSIA EXPO.

The National Centre RUSSIA was established by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and to showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens on a permanent basis. Federal government agencies, state companies, corporations, and regions take part in the Centre’s work.
