The series of workshops for the "Dreams of the Future" contest has been expanded with two new lectures
The National Centre RUSSIA continues to expand its collection of practical workshops within the framework of the All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future." Two more digital sessions have become available to registered participants of the contest in their personal accounts on the official website dream.russia.ru. The lectures were conducted by writer Pavel Shushkanov and producer of the video production of the Movement of the First's Klassnoye Radio, project manager at the Higher School of Creative Industries of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Kseniya Novikova.
Participants can go through the entire process of creating a video — from developing an idea to final editing. Experts will share the secrets of scriptwriting and explain how to identify an engaging topic and turn it into a captivating story.
The topic of the third workshop is: "What to film about? How to find a relevant topic and turn it into a captivating story."
During the session, experts and participants will discuss how to properly choose the author of a literary work for the future plot and how to determine the genre that will best reveal the selected literature. Participants will also learn everything about the genres themselves, with a particular focus on science fiction. Another section of the workshop is devoted to the concept of the character arc.
"Welcome to the National Centre RUSSIA. I have recorded a workshop for the participants of the contest. In it, you will learn how to choose a literary work, how to analyse it, and how to take part in the contest with your video essay. I believe you will find a lot of interesting and useful information. I look forward to seeing all of you in this contest and wish everyone the best of luck," said Pavel Shushkanov, the workshop host and writer, addressing the participants.
The topic of the fourth workshop is: "Scriptwriting creativity: tell your story!"
Participants will learn from the expert about scriptwriting creativity, where to find ideas for texts, and how to format them correctly to capture the audience’s interest. The workshop is led by Kseniya Novikova, Executive Producer of the Movement of the First’s Klassnoye Radio video production and Project Manager at the Higher School of Creative Industries of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
"I invite you to take part in the 'Dreams of the Future' contest, within which you can watch my workshop. We talked about scriptwriting creativity: where to look for ideas for your script, how to write and format it properly, and how to engage the viewer, listener, or reader with your texts. Watch and take part in the contest," invited Kseniya Novikova.
The "Dreams of the Future" contest continues the work of reviving public interest in future planning, which was initiated at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The project aims to inspire young people to reflect on the future and to introduce them to the works of science fiction writers. Participants are required to create a video essay beginning with the words: "We want to create a future where..." and to include a mandatory reference to works of science fiction from the recommended list. Submissions can be uploaded to the website dream.russia.ru until 30 April.
The contest is held within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Movement of the First, the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education under the Presidential Council for Science and Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library for Young Adults, the Council for Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), ANO "ArtMasters," ANO "Russia – Land of Opportunity," and the All-Russian Festival "NAUKA 0+" ("SCIENCE 0+").
