Joy and positive emotions: popular Indian blogger shares his impressions of the National Centre RUSSIA stand in New Delhi

Siddharth Nigam, a well-known Indian actor and gymnast, a popular blogger with a multimillion-strong audience and an idol of Indian youth, was inspired by the National Centre RUSSIA stand at the International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. India".

Siddharth Nigam gained widespread recognition through his television and Bollywood roles. The actor, whose extensive filmography includes leading roles as Indian princes and even the fairy-tale character Aladdin, was impressed by the diversity of the cultural zone at the National Centre RUSSIA stand, which introduces visitors to folk arts and crafts and the diversity of Russia's regions. The popular blogger tried on a Pavlovo Posad shawl and admired products from the Nikolo-Solbinsky Monastery. But he was particularly captivated by the Russian nevalyashka (roly-poly toy), dressed in a sari for its visit to India.

"My impressions of the National Centre RUSSIA and the Department Store are the happiest and most positive. I especially remember the nevalyashka — a toy that always returns to its original position no matter how much you tilt it. I feel very close to this approach: in life, I also try not to give up and to get back up again. Overall, the entire Department Store is beautifully designed, and every corner has been created with great care. I really liked the designs and products presented here. They are genuine, authentic and handmade. It was very interesting to meet the artisans, who demonstrate fascinating traditional crafts with their own hands," Siddharth Nigam shared.

From 9 to 11 September in New Delhi, the National Centre RUSSIA successfully presented its flagship Department Store project at the International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. India" and also prepared a cultural zone introducing visitors to folk arts and crafts and the diversity of Russia's regions. One of the Department Store's main missions in India was to showcase the traditions of Russian decorative and applied arts. Throughout the fair, artisans demonstrated traditional techniques in the centre of the space and told visitors about the distinctive features of their crafts. Guests could find a limited-edition series of Russian nevalyashkas in Indian style, wooden and crystal products, clothing featuring quotes by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and a variety of delicacies from across the country.

The event was organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India. The fair was held ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit and brought together more than 130 companies from Russia and India to develop business contacts and joint industrial projects.
