So that guests feel cared for: #PointOfKindness at the National Centre RUSSIA
On Youth
Day, June 28, the National Centre RUSSIA is hosting #PointOfKindness, where
visitors can learn all about volunteer assistance at the centre and how to
become part of the team, contributing to socially significant events.
Everyone
has the opportunity to become a volunteer in real time. In addition, guests can
take a test to find out which area of volunteer activity suits them best, as
well as participate in a workshop on creating a trendy bracelet using Morse
code technique.
"On
Youth Day, we are delighted to invite visitors, especially schoolchildren and
students, to join the ranks of our volunteers. We have the II All-Russian
Wedding Festival ahead of us, where we also need volunteer help. Moreover,
today guests can leave their kind wishes on special 'particles of kindness,'
which we will distribute in the second half of the day to give everyone a good
mood," said Yekaterina Sokolova, manager of the volunteer programme.
She noted
that thanks to the online test, one can find a suitable area of volunteering —
sports, environmental, medical, event-based, as well as get inspired for good
deeds.
Elza
Zarubina came to #PointOfKindness and decided to start volunteering because she
herself had been in situations where people helped her.
"My
dog, a German shepherd, ran away and got lost. I wrote about it on social
media. It was volunteers who found and rescued her after four days, and I
hadn't even contacted them personally. They even took her to a veterinary
clinic and paid for treatment. That was when I first learnt what real
volunteering was. The second time I met volunteers was when I was in hospital.
Volunteers came to our women's ward to congratulate us on March 8 with bouquets
of tulips. After that, I wanted to try this noble cause myself," shared Elza
Zarubina.
The guest
emphasised that the volunteers at the National Centre RUSSIA are very kind,
smile sincerely, radiate positive energy, and she would also like to become
part of the volunteer team.
Ilya
Yurchishin, Head of the Youth Policy Department at the National Centre RUSSIA,
said that more than 860 volunteers from Moscow and Russian regions have already
joined the National Centre RUSSIA volunteer programme. Their ages range from 14
to 75 years. The total contribution of volunteers to the centre's work has
amounted to more than 6,000 volunteer hours of assistance at events and in
day-to-day operations.
"We
have actively developed family volunteering; parents with children come to help
us, as well as silver volunteers — a married couple whom we hold up as an
example. Our volunteers have diverse tasks, but the most important thing they
bring is hospitality. They can answer any questions, give advice, provide
guidance, and create an atmosphere of care for guests at the National
Centre," said Ilya Yurchishin.
Volunteering
is an integral part of Russia's youth policy ecosystem, which unites the energy
and initiative of the young generation to build a strong, cohesive, and
responsible society.
According to Yevgeny Zharinov, Russia is more than territory.
Instead of a standard lecture, the organisers have prepared interactive tasks for guests.
In the lead-up to this major event, we look back at five traditional blessings given to newlyweds for a happy life together under the protection of their ancestors.
