Events digest: weekly highlights from the National Centre RUSSIA
From March 10 to 16, visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA explored new artistic techniques in master classes, attended a lecture on the history of buildings of Russian science, and participated in meetings with major tour operators, volunteers, and education representatives. Here are the key takeaways from the past week.
The National Centre RUSSIA Presented the Concept of the Exposition "The Birth of Scale"
The exposition explores Russian architecture and urban planning, showcasing the evolution of construction from ancient Rus’ buildings to modern megaprojects. The title reflects the impact of bold Russian architectural ideas on global architecture.
"We see the works of our predecessors from the 1920s and 1960s. For them, time seemed to expand — they lived in the future, felt themselves in the future. A hundred and fifty years later, that future has arrived. The ideas of Russian skyscrapers from the 1920s were only realized 30 to 40 years later. For the first time, we have presented these projects in large-scale models. Now we can truly see how talented and brilliant our country is, how extraordinary the people were who turned the future into the present, and share this with the audience," said Andrei Chernikhov, chief curator of "The Birth of Scale" exposition.
The exposition is organized with the support of leading museums and private collectors. It is free to visit, and registration for guided tours is available on the website russia.ru.
"Capital of Financial Culture" Contest
The winners of the contest, organized by the Central Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, were the Krasnoyarsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The main goal of the competition is to support the best regional initiatives for financial education. The honorary status is assigned to the winning region for one year.
"When we talk about a modern educated person, we mean someone who is financially literate, possessing financial culture skills: how to invest savings wisely, earn profitably in finance, and build a financial safety cushion. The more financially literate people there are, the stronger the financial stability of both the region and the state as a whole. We congratulate the regions of the Russian Federation that participated in the competition and succeeded in the rigorous selection process," said Anton Siluanov, Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.
Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region Mikhail Kotyukov proposed holding the first conference on the results of the new "Capital of Financial Culture" project at the Krasnoyarsk branch of the National Centre RUSSIA.
