Events digest: weekly highlights from the National Centre Russia
The All-Russian Student Olympiad, the Architectural Hackathon, the award ceremony of the All-Russian Student Graduation and other events are in our digest for the past week.
On July 15, the ceremony of awarding the gold medalists of the All-Russian Olympiad of Students "I am a Professional" took place. This is one of the projects of the presidential platform "Russia — the Land of Opportunities".
"I am a Professional" Olympiad prepares the human resources to implement the tasks of achieving the national technological leadership set by President of the Russian Federation .
In 2024/2025, 157 talented young people from 53 universities and 19 regions of Russia received the highest award of the Olympiad, a gold medal.
This season, more than 8,500 participants got a chance to complete internships at leading Russian companies and authorities offices, and take the first steps in their careers.
The Architectural Hackathon, a large-scale event for young architects and students of architectural universities of Russia, was held at the National Centre RUSSIA from July 16 to July 18. It was conducted together with the Government of the Donetsk People's Republic.
The theme of the Hackathon was: "The cultural code of historical regions based on the park environment." More than 70 students from architectural universities and faculties in Russia have created and defended projects dealing with the renovation of parks, and the concept of a visual code that reflect the spirit and atmosphere of each historical region of the country. Specific sites: Park Patriot (DPR), Molodogvardeysk City Park (LPR), Central Alley of Skadovsk (Kherson region) and Maxim Gorky Melitopol City Park of Culture and Recreation (Zaporizhia region) — were selected by the project organizers together with the regional ministries of construction.
"Climate of the Future: Trends and Technological Opportunities"
On July 17, a meeting "Climate of the Future: Trends and Technological Opportunities" was held as part of the project "Dialogues About the Future" with Valery Fedorov.
The event, organized by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and VTsIOM, is part of a large-scale preparation for the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future". The symposium will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA on October 7-8.
The dialogue set the tone for a discussion of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time, and was devoted to the study of key climate changes.
At the end of the discussion, the participants came to the conclusion that climate change requires a fundamentally new approach — a combination of advanced technologies with a deep philosophical understanding of man's place in nature. According to the experts, such dialogues at the National Centre RUSSIA are becoming an important platform for developing strategic decisions that will determine the future both of our country and of the entire planet.
On July 18, the strategic session "A strategic approach to innovation and the development of the country's digital future through agents of meaning: bloggers, artists, opinion leaders" was held.
The event brought together representatives of governmental agencies, business, the media industry and the cultural sphere. The session was organized by the platform Rosmolodezh.Forums and Allstars media holding.
The session experts discussed the ways of effective use of the agents of meaning's potential: bloggers, artists, and opinion leaders, in order to promote positive change and achieve national goals in the digital age. At the session, special attention was paid to real examples of successful interaction between the government, business and media platforms.
On July 19, the award ceremony of the All-Russian Student Graduation "Your Graduation" project brought to the National Centre RUSSIA 600 outstanding university graduates who contributed to the development of the university environment. They came from more than 80 regions of Russia.
The event was attended by the best university graduates, winners of All-Russian projects, international students who have outstanding achievements in the field of youth policy and educational activities, as well as members of the teaching staff and vice-rectors responsible for the youth policy in the country's universities.
"Your Graduation" was held in a marathon format with educational and cultural blocks in online and offline formats. The red diplomas were handed live to the students of the official community of the All-Russian Student project "Your Move". The graduates from all over the country received congratulations from the main persons in the field of youth policy and educational activities. Then one by one federal universities and rectors greeted the participants of the event in the video messages.
In the space of the National Centre RUSSIA, participants met with mentors and speakers, and took part in master classes, sessions, and the activity called "A Letter to a Freshman" from a graduate.
On July 20, a meeting "Speak like Matusovsky" was held as part of a cycle of author's events "Masterpieces. The Best in Russia."
Matusovsky's poetic work is very huge. He worked together with various composers, and he is the author of the lyrics to such famous songs as "Moscow Windows", "Moscow Evenings", "Where the Motherland Begins", "Faithful Friends", "School Waltz".
The educational program was accompanied by performances by invited guests — Victoria Karimova, Kamila Gafetdinova and Nikita Shilkin, the actors of Vsevolod Shilovsky Moscow Theater Studio.
The event ended with a mass reading of the poem "Where the Motherland begins", which united all the participants in a live performance of immortal lines.
Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, noted that Mikhail Matusovsky is a poet whose lines have become part of the history of Russia. She said that this meeting opened a cycle of events dedicated to the author's 110th birthday.
The cultural diversity of the country will be showcased through photography at the National Centre RUSSIA.
The final of the competition will be held on December 17 in the Grand Concert Hall of the National Centre RUSSIA.
