Ancient times and future: animation by Chinese animators at the National Centre
In the
gallery of the National Centre RUSSIA, there is a collection of animation works
by Chinese animators. Visitors can expect an exciting introduction to Chinese
culture, its legends, folklore, and traditions. The exposition features a
variety of genres, plots, and artistic styles, allowing each viewer to find
something they enjoy.
The
exposition "Legacy for the Future" showcases works created by student
animators from Chinese art schools. Among them the project "Zhuangzi's
Magical Zoo" really stands out — it is one of the most unusual and
original ones.
"Zhuangzi"
is an ancient Taoist book of parables, written around 300 BC, during the
Warring States period. This treatise is considered the foundation of Taoism.
However, the authors of the animation focused on depicting the fantastic and
real animals from the book. These animal images convey the philosophical and
spiritual ideas of Chinese sages, which remain relevant today.
The
animation "Genesis" offers a view of human existence through the
prism of the universe, where our life seems but an instant. The work
"Salamander" raises questions about the differences between humans
and robots, as well as the ethics of creating cyborgs who are unaware of their
true nature. The short film "Cold Square" touches on the issues of
digitalization in society and its potential dangers.
The film
"Time Traveler" tells the story of a protagonist named Sun Yulai, who
can cross the boundaries of our world. Viewers follow her adventures and
discover an original concept of parallel universes.
The integration of special military operation veterans into peaceful life and the interaction between regions and municipalities were discussed as part of the Forum "SMALL HOMELAND – THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA".
The second All-Russian Municipal Forum "Small Homeland – the Strength of Russia" is taking place at the National Centre RUSSIA.
