Our country is actively working on unified history textbooks for grades 5-9. They are undergoing a deep scientific examination. This was announced by Vladimir Medinsky, Aide to the President, Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission on Historical Education and Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, at the Forum of History Teachers at the RUSSIA EXPO. The meeting was held at the Knowledge.Lecture Hall of the Russian Society "Knowledge".

"This kind of expertise has never happened before. Textbooks pass through the sieve of two academic institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the history departments of Moscow State University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations and a large number of different special experts. That’s why despite the numerous picky criticisms — first of all, ideologized — there are no claims to the factology", — Vladimir Medinsky stressed.

The textbooks for grades 5-9 will not have fundamentally new approaches compared to those already used in grades 10-11. They will also contain references to thematic films, comparison of dates of Russian and world history and other methodological features. In the textbooks of this parallel, there will be clarifications related to new discoveries in archaeology.

"A significant event of this year was the introduction of a new history textbook for high school students. It has already been used in the country’s schools for almost half a year, children are studying it, teachers are working on it. History teachers from almost all regions are present here today. It is very important for us to understand how the unified history textbooks are used in lessons, and we would like to discuss with you how they are being implemented, and what comments and suggestions there are for their improvement. This will be the case for every state textbook — feedback is extremely important for us", — said Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievement of the country gathered in one place. During the entire time of the exposition, guests are welcomed with cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program. The expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are presented to the visitors.
