Exclusive interview with the Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area posted on the website of the National Centre RUSSIA
The Nenets Autonomous Area’s (NAA) key fields of development, priority sectors economy, and prospects for Arctic tourism — all these topics were discussed during an exclusive interview with Governor Irina Gekht. The video is posted on the official website of the National Centre RUSSIA.
During the interview, Irina Gekht stressed that the oil and gas industry remains the backbone of the region's economy, but related areas, from the introduction of energy-efficient technologies to the modernization of water supply and sanitation systems, are actively developing there.
The Governor also spoke about the region’s social sphere development. By the 100th anniversary of the NAA, which will be celebrated in 2029, it is planned to implement a number of large-scale projects: to complete the construction of the Arctic Cathedral, renovate the museum, and beautify the city of Naryan-Mar.
