Expert from Kazakhstan to speak at the Open Dialogue in Vladivostok
On 5 September, the Open Dialogue experts from different countries will gather for a session on the thematic vector "Investment in Connectivity"at the first branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region. Among them will be Rakhim Oshakbayev, chief economist of the TALAP Centre for Applied Research in Kazakhstan. His recent research has focused on Kazakhstan's macroeconomics, the trade policy of the Eurasian Economic Union, the sustainable development of Central Asia, regional economic integration, and investment strategies of developing countries.
"Vladivostok will host an expert discussion on the transformation of global trade and connectivity in a rapidly changing world, and I'm going to make a presentation on payment sustainability there. Unfortunately, in the new economic reality, which is full of unpredictable sanctions, new tariffs and, in general, changes in the rules of the game, we in the Eurasian Economic Union, even having the same customs territory, are experiencing serious difficulties with payments," said Rahim Oshakbayev.
The expert added that so far no sustainable solutions have been found regarding this issue. Rahim Oshakbayev added that he is looking forward to the Open Dialogue meeting where he and other experts will discuss possible responses to these challenges.
