New Year tree of the Altai region: marvelous landscapes and bouquets of cereals
The
decoration of the fir tree presents bright folk crafts made by the masters of
the Turina Gora enterprise - decorative panels depicting amazingly beautiful
landscapes of the Altai region.
The main
direction of their work is painting on faience, but the Scythian theme, created
according to the laws of ancient symbolism and embodied in chamber sculptural
pieces, is also reflected in the works of the artists.
In the
paintings of vases, plaquettes, decorative dishes and bells the artists refer
to historical and cultural themes, wooden architecture of Barnaul, landscapes
of the Altai Mountains, Siberian village.
Turina Mountain or Gora in Russian (once it was called Turieva Mountain) is the highest point of Barnaul (251.4 meters), located in the north of the city. In the middle of the nineteenth century, the first archaeological surveys were conducted here, 96 ancient burial mounds and evidence of material culture of the X-XI centuries, including fragments of fabric, household utensils, jewelry were discovered.
