Protected Bryansk forests and their inhabitants became the main theme in the design of the New Year tree at VDNH. Craftsmen of the region vividly depicted titmice and bullfinches on tree cuttings and made ceramic animals. The forest theme was supported by the products of folk crafts - birch bark boxes, baskets and wicker panels shaped like snowflakes.

The Bryansk forest is the only place in Europe where all 10 species of European woodpeckers can be found.

There are 868 species of higher plants, more than 35 species of the orchid family, 280 species of vertebrate animals, 156 species of birds, 29 species of fish on the territory of the reserve.

The symbol of the reserve is the black stork. This rare bird is included in the Red Book of Russia and a number of other countries. Cutting down old forests is destructive for the black stork - it deprives it of its only possible habitat.

On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by 89 New Year trees, each of them representing a region of the country. The RUSSIA EXPO is open from Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The best time to visit is in the mornings and weekdays, but the exposition is open to everyone on weekends as well. All expositions and events are free of charge.
